Carlin Systems, Inc., is a Bohemia, New York based electronic component and computer product distributor, has been sponsoring Indoor Wheelchair Soccer for 13 seasons. CSI has provided uniforms for every player who has ever been on the Chariot's or Striker's roster and fields a team to play in exhibitions against our two squads in preparation for The NDSA-IWS National Championships that is held each November in a league city.
Last season, CSI was the "Gold Sponsor" for the first "Home Championships" held in the LI-NY area and supported our efforts with funding and personal time to insure the success of hosting our first national disabled sports tournament in our two decade plus history.
For more than a decade, CSI has fielded a team of coworkers and friends to play Indoor Wheelchair Soccer against our squad as a fundraiser and to test our team's readiness to go up against two divisions of talented disabled athletes across the nation. These games are spirited and meaningful in many ways. Over the years, the CSI team has learned how to handle wheelchairs for the purpose of sport and realize how difficult and talented one must be to play IWS. On two occasions, they have actually won the game and have certainly tested us in every other.
John and Chris Giovan, President and Vice President respectively, have been generous benefactors and friends for a long time. They believe in the value of sport being a building block for a person's personal growth. Teamwork, discipline and reward build a person from within. That is why CSI believes in the Chariots of Fire program and the opportunities we provide for all disabled athletes. John and Chris Giovan also sponsor a competitive team of co-workers and friends, the Carlin Tappers, each summer that truly loves competing and spending time with friends. That's another reason why CSI understands the mission of the NY Chariots of Fire.
The New York Chariots of Fire look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with our oldest sponsors and trusted friends!
